Slipperiness and slip resistance

Slip resistance concerns a surface under its actual conditions of use; it is not guaranteed by the rock’s name. Finish, wear, water, cleaning residue and footwear can change behaviour. Dry-only results are inadequate for an area expected to become wet. Compare test methods and conditions. A visibly rough texture does not automatically establish a particular slip-resistance classification.
